Holiday Accommodation & Location Details
Set on a staggering cliff top looking over one of Devon’s finest bays, Leonards Cove is the perfect year-round base for random exploration of the handsome coastline, its beaches, coves, spits and villages. As soon as you arrive you’ll realise why it is a specially designated zone of natural beauty.
More About Leonards Cove
The executive clifftop bungalows afford magnificent panoramas of the bay and the ocean beyond and are equipped with such deluxe accoutrements as wet rooms, sun decking and kingsize beds you can flop onto after a hard day’s hiking or cycling. The cottages boast capacious sitting rooms with open log fire which really cranks up the cosy country atmosphere. 12-foot wide caravans that sleep up to 4 people can also be hired.
These come with outdoor furniture so you can relax al fresco, basking in the sun and the cool sea breeze. For just a few extra pounds a week you can have yourself high chairs and travel cots for the little ones. Heating and electricity are included in your final bill so you don’t need to worry about meters or anything like that. There are great low cost cheap log cabin deals all year so make sure you check them all out.
Out & About from Leonards Cove
The quaint and adjacent village of Stoke Fleming boasts an old-world Devonshire pub, handy grocery shop, and first-rate restaurant with alcohol licence. Less than a mile away is Blackpool Sands, arguably the West Country’s most unspoilt and attractive coves.
You can fish, surf, swim, paddle and do all manner of watersports in this special place. Golfers will be delighted to find out that a professional 18-holer is located just three miles from Leonards Cove near Slapton Sands, one of the country’s top birdwatching spots.
A curiosity hereabouts is a freshwater lake that is separated by the sea by just a narrow peninsular. The seaside heritage town of Dartmouth isn’t far either and you can enjoy fine restaurants, pubs and historic attractions. You can also get a ferry ride from here to other gorgeous Devonshire towns including Torbay.
If you’re prepared to drive for half an hour then it’s well worth checking out the enchanting tors of Dartmoor, immortalized by many a great novel. All in all, Leonards Cove is a great family accommodation choice. Want to find more lodges in South Devon, check them out here.
